Keen amateur astronomer since the dawn of the Space Age and BAA member since 1966, I have a broad range of interests astronomically speaking. Academically I studied Chemistry and Physics with a Ph.D from Bristol Uni in 1978. Spent most of my working life as a research scientist in industry, now retired. I have been involved on the committee of the Asteroids and Remote Planets Section since its formation and also CCD Adviser to the Variable Star Section. Interested in photometry since 1980 and use it to enhance value of CCD observations. Keen on limiting the spread of light pollution in the UK, and on encouraging observers young and old, both visual and CCD.
