Isle of Wight Star Party Print
From Thursday, 06 March 2008 -  08:00
To Monday, 10 March 2008 - 17:00
Every day

Isle of Wight Star Party, in association with SAGAS
6th - 10th March 2008.

Come and enjoy some of the darkest skies in Southern England.

Vectis Astronomical Society on the Isle of Wight, just off the south coast near Portsmouth, is hosting a Star Party. The setting is a holiday centre, with breathtaking, almost 180 degree, southerly views across the Channel. The centre provides chalets and can also accommodate tents and caravans. The provisional program includes trade stands (including The Widescreen Centre and Celestron), an astrojumble, a raffle, speakers and a visit to The Needles New Battery (Ex-Rocket testing site). If the conditions are clear, you may even be able to see 108 of the 110 Messier Objects.
