Welcome to offical pages of BRNO - Variable Star Section of the Czech Astronomical Society.

Pages are under construction

Our members are observers and friends of variable stars. The main observing program since 1960 have pertained to eclipsing binaries, especially the datermination of minima timinga. The majority of observations are visual, but during last few years, CCD observers in our section have grown in strength. The minima timings and scientific articles are submited to the Contributions of The Nicholas Copernicus Observatory And Planetarium in Brno and Perseus, the bulletin of our section. The Contributions are writen in English. Some of our members publish their results in well-known Information Bulletin on Variable Stars (IBVS). Since 1996, other types of variables (pulsating, cataclysmic, symbiotic, etc.) have been observed by the MEDUZA group.
