OJ287 Update - 15-Oct-2006 Print E-mail

Observations of OJ287 received in September & October suggest a slight rise in brightness from 15.8 to 15.4 over the past month. We do have a (rival) prediction for an outburst during early 2007, so it is very important to monitor this brightening trend for the next month or so, just to see if it continues. Any outburst will take place following a slow deliberate rise in brightness over a period of some weeks.

Please make a special effort to observe OJ in the morning sky during this period, and report your observations to me as soon as you can.
