BAA member John Bell produced this excellent image of the meeting of Jupiter and our moon at 00:32 on 2nd November, 2012. Camera used was a Canon SX40 (bridge compact camera with “superzoom”) at ISO 400 and a 150mm focal length. The camera was fixed on tripod and two exposures were taken. The first for the Moon at 1/640sec and the second for Jupiter and satellites was 1/3sec. The images were combined in post-processing.
