Now that Comet Catalina C/2013 US10 is rising earlier and at a higher declination, a LOT of structure is starting to show up in the gas tail/s. These animations show great details. The smaller FOV doesn't have as much glare from near-field stars, but doesn't show as many kinks in the tail. That is what is causing the strange static streaks in the 20x30 arc minutes images. But with a ninth magnitude star just about an arc minutes off of the edge of the frame, it almost looks like another comet tail running opposite of the gas/ion tail. What is the correct term for the striations in the gas tail... I thought it was isochrones but I can't find a proper reference
