A single, 3-minute exposure of Oukaimeden taken on 2014 October 03 at 09:21 UT (local time 7:21 p.m.) using iTelescope T31 in Siding Spring. The image was taken about an hour and a quarter after sunset, when the comet's altitude was 22 degrees - and falling. Position Angle of the comet is 90 degrees. It looks like there is a twist in the ion tail, fairly close to the coma. Had the seeing been better then this would be more obvious in the final processed image. |
