On 12 june 2014, 2 objects where mentioned on the PCCP of the minor planet center website. Both objects where imaged, it was very hard to catch: moonlight, very low altitude of 10 degrees and during dawn. The second object was mentioned with magnitude of 18.5 and couldn’t find this object on the CCD-images taken with a 0.4-m f/3.8 astrograph and Clear filter with 6+0 sec. exp.time (longer exposure gives a complete saturated image. (B96 observatory – BRIXIIS, Kruibeke, Belgium) The second object named NM06so8, was images in the same ‘poor’ conditions but with use of a R-Bessel filter. Object was mentioned as magnitude 16.5. On 12 june I could catch this object and measured this out. In CBET 3901, you could read: Thirtheen co-added unfiltered 60-s images taken by E. Bryssinck (Kruibeke, Belgium; 0.4-m f/3.8 astrograph) on June 12.08 reveal a coma of size 11" x 14" and a hint of a tail about 27" long towards p.a. 231 degrees The second night (morning) for observation was 15 june 2014, I could this object again and in CBET 3901 you could read about this observation: twenty co-added 120-s images taken on June 15.07 with a Bessel R filter show a coma of size 14" x 19" (magnitude 15.9 in an aperture of size 14"), elongated towards p.a. 289 degrees with a hint of a tail 21" long in p.a. 247 degrees. I’m very happy with this observation Erik Bryssinck, BRIXIIS Observatory, Kruibeke, Belgium |
