I looked out just after 10pm and it was clear-ish. By the time I got out and on Lovejoy it was 10.48pm and cloud rolling in with ‘Clagg’ in the area of the comet. I persevered until 11.45pm but the view was always through varying levels of cloud. Delta Leporis (mag 3.76) 6 degs above the comet in altitude was popping in and out of view so my skies were about mag 4 at best in the comet locality. Sketch was more about seeing it! No tail of course but the coma did look slightly larger above the core (South in my inverted view). |
