Please find attached a sketch of comet C/2017 T2 Panstarrs as it neared NGC 957, near the Double Cluster made on 20 and 21 January using a pair of 100mm binoculars with 13mm Naglers to give x42 magnification from my observatory near Salisbury. As you can see, it was a dim smudge, slightly elongated eastwards with the vaguest hint of central condensation. It was lovely to star hop from the double cluster to NGC 957 and then let my eyes slowly pick up the dim glow of the comet. |
