Comet 2018 Y1 Iwamoto from yesterday evening (2019-02-09 22:30h - 23:30h UT). The tail is divided in two (maybe a disruption event). The apparent movement of the comet in the sky - now near the earth (3 days before Perigeum) - is now very fast, so that already at 60 sec exposure time slight line traces appear. At the top left of the picture you can see the spiral galaxy NGC 3526 in the constellation Leo. 53 x 60 sec, RItchey-Chretien 300/1620, ASI071, UHC-E filter. Tenerife 1180 m a.s. |
