I trekked out into the hills west of Salisbury to get some decent dark skies last night - I think Bristol was the biggest polluter still! This is 1h21m with a 200mm f3.3 lens on a Canon 500D. 13sec subs. Clearly a wider lens needed!

I must say this exceeded my expectations.
