C/2020 F8 (SWAN): Single 60second image using an Olympus OMD EM1mk2 and Olympus 75mm f1.8 lens @ f2.5. Image was started at 2020 May 3 18:52 Hrs UT. This is straight out the camera, and stretched 3-4 stops to show the full extent of tail which is at least 10 degrees in this image. Visual observation: 2020 May 3.78 UT; m1=5.2; Diam = 8'; DC=7; 8x42 B [Terry Lovejoy, Birkdale, QLD, Australia] Comparision stars used TYC 5267 512 (5.8) and 3 Ceti (4.9), Comet appeared slightly fainter, and the tail was not as distinct in 8x42 binoculars but around 1-2 degrees length. Estimated SQM-L ~ 19. |
