Comet C/2021 A1 (Leonard) was a little dimmer on the evening of 2021 December 15. Collected some green filter images at 0118UT and 0124UT 2021 December 16 at altitudes of 6 degrees and 4 degrees respectively and Astrometrica calculated magnitudes of V=3.8 and V=3.7 using UCAC4, again Gia2 could not calculate a solution. The comet had a coma of 13' and a wide fan tail at least 30' long at a PA of 79 degrees. Evening twilight is still a problem near the horizon along with all that haze and atmosphere so the tail is not very visible. |
