The evening of 2021 December 18 UT was not so good, persistent thin clouds with very few hazy openings to go along with the Full Moon, low altitude, dusk and light pollution did not allow for any good images to measure the coma or tail with any accuracy. There was only one opening in the clouds with a relatively good view of the comet and managed to capture 10x10s green filter images at an altitude of 8 degrees in dusk. Astrometrica calculated the comet magnitude at V=4.8, so it appears the comet continues to fade as seen from Earth. The other images were captured about 1 degree above the horizon. |
