Comet C/2021 A1 (Leonard) this evening from its discovery location, the Mount Lemmon Survey. The comet is visible to the left of Venus after sunset. It has undergone an outburst over the last 24 or so hours and is now visible to the naked eye. I was just able to make it out with averted vision when I shot this image. Easily spotted with binoculars. Congrats to my colleague Gregory on such an awesome discovery. Hope it gets even brighter as it approaches perihelion. |
