Comet C/2021 A1 (Leonard) was fainter this evening. Astrometrica calculated magnitudes of V=6.4 for both 10x30s green filter images and 10x30s images with no filter. Internet problems did not allow GAIA DR2 to complete downloads, usually the G magnitudes are about 0.3 magnitudes brighter than the V magnitudes as calculated by Astrometrica on my images. The coma is 3' wide and the tail >2 degrees at PA 93 degrees. Light pollution at low altitudes wipes out the tail. |
