Comet NEOWISE C/2021 A4 imaged tonight (Feb 7, 3:51 UT) from LCO-McDonald. I visually observed it last night (Feb 6.16, m1=12.6, 2.2' coma, DC = 1-2, 41 cm reflector; vague, diffuse coma). This is an intermediate-period comet (P ~300 years), and will be passing 0.43 AU from Earth next week. It's moving pretty fast right now (almost 4 degrees per day). |
