C/2023 A3 on the morning of 2024 October 1 UT was magnitude G=2.4 as calculated from 8x2 second images taken thru a red filter in an aperture diameter of 5'. Looking at yesterday's magnitude calculation it became clear that the images used for the calculation were near saturation and did not generate enough stars for Astrometrica to properly calculate the comets magnitude. By using images a few minutes after the comet rose above the mountains Astrometrica had more good stars to calculate a magnitude G=2.8 for the comet on 2024 September 30
