This morning (2024 Oct 5, 18:10 UT) with the coma of C/2023 A3 5 degrees below the horizon, the tail could be seen faintly with the naked eye extending up from below the horizon to a length of 25 degrees or more. Photographically a length of 35 degrees can be seen as shown here (19 x 30 second exposures using a 35mm f1.4 lens). The coma was only 13 degrees from the sun, and cloud/haze horizon meant that it could only be seen weakly in 10x42 binoculars later in twilight. The location of the observation was Glass House Mountains lookout (S 26.9314258, E 152.8948219), QLD, Australia
