C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS in evening sky with huge 91% moon in east. 2024 October 14 starting at 7:00 MST, Samyang 135mm @ f/2.4, ZWO ASI2600 MC, Elevation 5500, Payson. This set was 55 subs each 10s totaling 9 minutes, long as to not overexpose the nucleus. Was seen in a very blue moonlit sky quite high up in the west, 25 degrees of tail seen visually despite the nearly full moon. Notice M5 in the tail and about half way from M5 to nucleus and just above tail is Comet Olbers! |
