- Getting Brighter, 9th Magnitude Comet C/2023 H2 Lemmon Floats Thru Canes Venatici 2023-10-24 - Slated to brighten to better than 7th magnitude, comet C/2023 H2 Lemmon has shown a significant brightening since last I imaged. Perihelion is in 5 days, while orbital crossing is two days later. November 10th shows it's closest approach to the earth and perhaps the brightest in and around this time period...actually anybody's guess! I'm looking forward to this one.
