new periodic comet P/2023 S1 from the Frasso Sabino observatory. The comet appears very condensed with a faint and small coma. However, it is brighter than expected as seen in the image. The coma has a diameter of approximately 10" and a magnitude (with clear filter) of 18.7. The image scale is 1".25/pixel with north perfectly at the top and east on the left. The field of view is 32'.5x21'.7. The image is the sum of 30x90s. The small arrow indicates the comet (in the field there are also 3 other asteroids, one clearly visible just above the comet between two stars, including one of 21.3). |
