Comet C/2024 G3 ATLAS
on 2024 December 29 at 08:32UT.
using ITEL-T70 Chile 135 mm f/3.5 Samyang Lens + CMOS.
6x30sec. FOV 3 deg. North lower left.
Mag 5.5 and brightening rapidly, possibly reaching -3 in mid-Jan.
However, this will be my last image as the comet is too near the Sun.
The comet will enter the SOHO LASCO C3 field of view on 2025 January 11 at 16UT and will be visible until it departs the field on 2025 January 15 at 06UT.
It reappears in evening skies from January 20th.
