2025a6 20251021 mmckenna

Sketch of C/2025 A6 Lemmon October 21st/22nd 2025 as seen in 10x42mm binoculars from a dark sky location in N. Ireland. Visually, after proper dark adaption, the comet looked like a fainter version of what's being captured on long exposure images seen online.
A well condensed coma at DC:7, bright intense central condensation, uninform dust tail of at least 2 degrees with a hint of curvature. Gas tail blue and 5 degrees visually with fine streamers inside.
A beautiful comet during it's closest approach to Earth. Sketch now attached to my observing log book. This sketch is made from memory and is a generalized rendition of my visual impression at the time. In hindsight I suspect the comet is a fraction brighter than the 4th magnitude value I obtained on the night
