2025a6 20251025 mmckenna

Another sketch, this time from Oct 25th/26th 2025 of Lemmon observed from a very dark location called Beaghmore Stone Circles in the Sperrins of N. Ireland. I was shocked how much more tail I could see this night, three of us were observing it in binoculars at once and admiring the beauty of the tail.

10x42mm binos, gas tail 9 degrees long visually, extending rite into the naked eye stars of Corona Borealis. With naked eye comet seen as a stationary glowing streak of light, tail observed to 9 or 10 degrees without optical aid using averted vision (only seen twice at this length during moments of great clarity), I was surprised by this. At a rough estimate it was fist size at arm's length.

Coma DC:8, green on sunward side, dust and gas tails superimposed on one another. Comet was really gorgeous, this was my best view of it yet.
