C/2026 A1 (MAPS) March 3.03 UT, 2026. As Michael Jäger and Gerald Rhemann mentioned previously a green filter helps improve contrast of this comet in moonlight. I estimate mag 11.5 using a green filter, 11x180 sec exposure and 25cm f3.8 newtonian from X07 in Chile. Incidentally Comet C/1965 S1 (Ikeya-Seki) was discovered at the same distance from the sun as C/2026 A1 (MAPS) currently is. |
