Hi all,
I waited up for 21P/Giacobini-Zinner last night- by 0154UT it was at a
reasonable height above the observatory. I made two drawings, one at
x25 and another at x111. There was a little mist present and
transparency was probably less than average, as a result the comet
appeared to have a low surface brightness. At x25 the nucleus was
visible and the tail was just detectable. At x111 more structure was
visible in the tail and nucleus.
Recent images show the comet has a greenish tint but I was unable to
detect this, visually it appeared a bluish white colour.
Best wishes,
-Paul
