My contribution to the comet conjunction images. September 7, 10:18 UT, from LCO-Haleakala. I was able to see both comets visually in the same telescopic field of view -- only the third time in all my years of observing when I've seen two comets simultaneously in the same telescope field. For 260P, m1 = 12.7, for C/2018 N2, m1 = 12.3 (41 cm reflector, 70x). At higher magnification I could faintly see the tails on both comets. |
