45P/Honda-Mrkos-Pajdusakova February 4.82, 2017 Greenish coma looked big, about 20 arcminutes, and the central condensation was small and clear. I could detect no tails. They were expected toward northwest. North is up, and west is to the right. Earth distance: 0.128 AU Sun distance: 0.874 AU The object was low in the east, 7.8 degrees at the beginning and 18.5 degrees at the end of the imaging session about 20 minutes after the beginning of twilight. It drifted fast, more than 10 arcseconds per minute at the night. The frame 2,472 x 1,652 pixels is cropped of the full frame 5,760 x 3,840 pixels, and it is comparable to a frame taken with a scope of 750mm in focal length. |
