The Comet 46 p / Wirtanen in its thirteenth appearance, located on the constellation of fornax and with a brightness OF MAGNITUDE 7 was captured in this image of great field obtained through a telephoto lens from the dark southern skies of Namibia. The Turquoise coma reaches a angular size of about 45 ', bigger than the full moon, and will continue to grow of size and brightness until its maximum approach to earth in December. In the image comes a short ion tail in northeast direction.
