Got it at last (faints). 67P this morning, 18 Aug 2015 UT (19 Aug local), taken with camera and lens from Clearspot Lookout near Bright. Hints of a small coma - not necessarily real but ties in perfectly with Chris' visual obs and description. CCDs seem to show a very condensed comet with short tail and no real coma to speak of (or is that just over-exposure?). Anyway, I'm never going to pick up the tail with this 'blunt' instrument! |
