A quick grab of limited data for this low altidude open cluster as seen from the UK. The foreground PN NGC2438 came out pretty well.

That is a nice image of this open cluster, the planetary nebula really stands out.

Thanks Andy,
Prior to imaging the cluster I didn't even know about the PN, so when the images started downloading I thought that I had a horrid and persistent dust/dew doughnut, then I though hey, hang on a minute and a quick check on line put me right. It was a lovely bonus... :-)

Hi Geof,
Hi Geof,
Finding the unexpected is one of the joys of the hobby. I remember years ago imaging the Ring Nebula, only spot spot a distant spiral galaxy once I'd processed the images. Making these little discoveries oneself, even though they are usually known objects, adds a bit of a thrill.
Cheers,
Andy
Thanks Andy,
Thanks Andy,
So very true and I recall the same experience with that galaxy in my first M57 image a few years ago :-).
Cheers, Geof
