This image, like the one of Clavius that follows, was taken the evening before the one of the same area that I posted on this site on May 27th. Seeing on this occasion was nowhere near as good, and the AVI files promised little, but Autostakkert3 and Registax 6 delivered their usual magic and managed to make something out of a sow's ear. I often wonder what Harold Hill, the great selenographer who had a particular interest in the South polar regions and Clavius, would have made of the possibilities offered by technology today to those significantly less gifted than he.
