In the early hours of Monday morning I filled the car with telescopes and camera equipment and headed down to Duffus Castle to see the Lunar Eclipse. To begin with, the sky was very clear but there were some high altitude clouds around. I got very good views of the partial phase leading up to totality. However, just as totality was about to start the clouds thickened and they quickly covered the eclipsed Moon.
This image was taken at 4:39 a.m., two minutes before the start of totality.
