A 35mm Kodachrome shot of the partial phase of the 1999 August TSE taken shortly after totality from the grounds of the gite we rented in northern France - cunningly placed under the line of totality. Thin cloud provided a useful solar filter for viewing the partial phases. Totality was fortunately cloud free.

I have posted this to mark the 20th anniversary of this total eclipse which was sadly clouded out for most of those who attempted to see it from Cornwall. Normandy turned out to be a better choice of destination!
