Messier 51

14inch LX200 SCT at f/10 and 130mm triplet APO
EQ8 mount and EQ6 mount
OAG with Lodestar X2 Autoguider
0.75 reducer with the refractor image
This is two images of M51, the top one is a small section of an image taken through my 130mm refractor using a 0.75 Riccardi reducer at 1x1 binning and the lower image through my 14inch SCT at 2x2 binning, using the same OSC camera for both images. The top image is a stack of 12x300seconds and the lower image is 30x300seconds.
It was an interesting comparison and shows how sensitive modern colour cameras have become. Flats and darks subtracted from both images.
