The art of Vega

14inch LX200 SCT at f/10
EQ8 mount
Taking images is a cross between art and science. When switching targets with my 14inch scope at f/10 I have a habit of turning the camera to full gain and running short exposures to try to match the screen display against the sky chart. I was using Vega to hone in on the area for a faint target when I noticed that it was causing some unusual refection effects beyond the usual SCT baffle issues with bright stars. This image is a short stack of hopefully aesthetically pleasing effects, a change from serious imaging but at the same time a natural effect caused entirely by pointing a telescope at a bright star out there.
