Video shows the ISS crossing the Moon

This week marks the start of a two-week period in which the International Space Station will be making regular bright passes over the UK in the evening sky.

Steve Knight took the opportunity to catch the silhouette of the unilluminated space station passing in front of the full moon. Travelling 24 miles to Ryton-On-Dunsmore to get the right geometry to see the ISS cross the Moon, Steve set up a Canon 550D SLR camera on the back of his ETX-125.

The ISS took only 1.3 seconds to cross the Moon, but in the video below, this is slowed down by a factor of ten.
