In recent weeks I’ve added a load more BAA related videos to my youtube channel. These include short edited clips of the BAA Exhibition meetings of 1991, 1992, 1994 and 1995, with plenty of BAA characters on display. The 1995 video even has a few glimpses of a 14 year old Chris Lintott talking to Henry Hatfield! The 1992 video is in 3 parts to include Harold Ridley and George Alcock receiving their Goodacre and Merlin awards. I’ve also uploaded some Sky at Nights where BAA people were involved, such as Colin Ronan, Paul Doherty & Harold Ridley, as well as a Henry Hatfield home video showing him using his Spectrohelioscope. Finally, I’ve also uploaded Patrick’s 1974 ‘This is Your Life’ programme, which contains no other astronomers (apart from a brief clip with Ron Maddison), but is still quite entertaining… More than 50 videos on there in total….  Enjoy!

Crikey Martin. I can see myself with dark hair!  No grey in 1995! It was my first year as Director of the VSS, and there I am setting up the VSS stand.  Brought back a few memories seeing that.  Nick James looks a few pounds lighter too 😉

Many thanks for sharing! Great fun!

Indeed, and I had some hair then too…

Great videos, although very few contain Martin himself. I have some old videos too and may need to retaliate.

    Nick.

Thanks so much for uploading all these, Martin. I have wanted to see the This is your life programme for years, ever since I missed watching it in the 70s in fact. A real feast of priceless Patrick moments!
