    Hi guys

Downloaded the reference star finder from the Spectro-Aras site and not sure what to do with it?.I assume I enter the date, RA and Dec settings for a chosen target star and also my lat. and long. location then click on a `compute` button somewhere and up comes a list of reference A/B stars but nothing happens when I do that, have I missed something please?. Also what are all the different `site` buttons for ?

note – the above screen shows the default settings that came with the spreadsheet!

I can change the RA,Dec settings which changes the altitude but nothing else!

    thanks

    Steve

You seem to be using LibreOffice (AKA Open Office) Calc  on a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.

The Macro language (which programs buttons) is not compatible in my experiance.

There is a Microsoft “Viewer” application which MIGHT work if you download it.

I had to recode all the macros in my spreadsheets when I ported to Open Office from Excel, a non trivial task.

I’ve since checked…  and the Microsoft viewer won’t run macros either!

Ah! thanks for the info Roy, I thought Open office and Libre office were compatible with all the Microsoft stuff, that explains a lot!

    regards
