Simon Edwins captured this fine image of Arp 85 - the interacting galaxies also collectively known as "M 51" - from his home in Befordshire, UK during the evenings of 4th and 5th May 2016.

He used an Atik 460 monochrome camera at prime focus on an 8" F4.5 Orion Optics CT8 reflector and stacking was carried out using Nebulosity with post processing in Photoshop.

This is an LRGB image, and the component exposures were:

Luminance: 19x 360s binned 1x1
Red: 10x 180s + 5x 240s binned 2x2
Green: 9x 180s + 5x 240s binned 2x2
Blue: 10x 180s + 4x240s binned 2x2
So, a total of 4h17m data
