About this image

Geoff White was in Malta and spotted this close alignment of Venus and Mercury on 2015-01-11. The image, which Geoff describes as "really just a snap" was taken with a 12 megapixel Panasonic Lumix camera with the lens set to telephoto, which equates to 26mm focal length. Venus is of course the brighter object at magnitude -3.8 and Mercury is to the right at -0.7.
