Workshop Meeting as part of the European Planetary Science Congress 2013 at University College London
"Amateur Contributions to Solar System Studies"

The EPSC is one of the world's largest gatherings of professional and amateur researchers in astronomy and the space sciences. It runs from September 08–13 this year, in the UK for the first time, in London.

Members and guests are invited to join us in a special day-long BAA session on Friday 13 September, focusing on amateur work and pro-am collaboration in solar system research. The meeting will be chaired by David Arditti and John Rogers, and the programme will be as follows:

10:45 David Arditti: Recent developments in amateur planetary imaging
11:20 Tea/coffee break
11:40 Tony Cook: Impact Flash observing; and avoiding misinterpretation in suspect TLPs
12:15 Richard Miles: Amateur contributions to asteroid studies
12:50 Lunch
14:00 Marc Delcroix: Jupiter impacts detection project: a pro-am collaboration
14:35 Paul Abel: Visual planetary observing

The meeting will take place in the Computer Cluster Room in the Department of Chemistry, Christopher Ingold Building, 20 Gordon Street, London WC1H 0AJ. (Nearest Underground stations: Euston Square and Euston.)

There will be a charge of £10 to cover morning and afternoon tea and coffee and a cold buffet lunch. This will be collected at the door.

Many members are attending the regular Congress sessions as well, which run through the week. The programme for these is here:
