Online booking now available for the BAA Christmas Lecture meeting

We are pleased to advise that it is now possible to book places for the BAA
Christmas Lecture, to be held in London on 2015 December 12, through the BAA
online shop.

Full details of the meeting arrangements are on the website. As announced
in the October Journal, the Christmas Lecture will be given by Professor
Gerry Gilmore of the Institute of Astronomy, Cambridge, on the topic of
‘Gaia: the billion star surveyor’. Other talks will be given by Dr Lucie
Green (UCL): ‘At the edge: how leaving the solar system can tell us more
about the Sun?’ and Nick James: ‘Sky notes for December and January’.

The meeting is free for BAA members and members of BAA-affiliated societies
who book before November 20. The cost for non-members, and anyone who
arrives on the day without having booked beforehand, is £5. Book your place
online at www.britastro.org/xmaslecture2015.

Our thanks are due to Dominic Ford, our Webmaster, for his hard work in
setting up this useful online facility, which in addition to booking by
post, should be available in future for most BAA and Section meetings that
need to be pre-booked.

Best wishes

Hazel McGee

President
