[BAA-ebulletin 01004] Expulsion of members of the BAA

During its meeting on 2018 May 30, the Council of the British Astronomical
Association voted to expel Mr Robert ("Bob") Marriott and Ms Lorraine Crook
from the Association, under Article 7 of the Articles of Association.
Unfortunately, the Board of Trustees and Council have concluded that, among
other things, both people have been grossly negligent in their care of BAA
property which has been entrusted to them for safekeeping, notably
historically important and valuable instruments belonging to the
Association.

Council also voted to revoke the Lydia Brown Medal awarded to Bob Marriott.
This award was made to him in recognition of meritorious service to the
Association and specifically cited his role as Curator of Instruments.
