Hi Nick,

I agree that a workshop of some description would be really useful. The
MK meeting is probably not the best time for this, although observing
techniques are on the agenda, but we are thinking of having a more
informal Comet Section meeting at a smaller venue sometime next spring.
This would give us the opportunity to discuss comet observing techniques
from widefield imaging and searching to deep imaging of distant comets,
along with all the associated hardware and software tips and tricks.

Nothing is definite yet but watch this space. I'd certainly be
interested in hearing what people would like to have at such a meeting.
The Humfrey Rooms at Northampton is a possible venue. This has been used
for many BAA section meetings and it is relatively easy to get to from
north and south.

It would be nice to get some clear skies so that I could actually
observe some comets but, at least in the south-east, we appear to be
under semi-permanent rain clouds at the moment.
