This evening a new comet discovered in the course of the Catalina Sky Survey
was announced by the MPC/Central Bureau (one of three new discovery notices
to be issued by the MPC today). See:

The comet, C/2013 G5 (CATALINA) looks to present a favourable apparition for
most observers (incl. UK-based ones around perihelion) when in early
September 2013 it may reach 11th magnitude according to the current MPC
ephemeris.

Perihelion is on September 1 at q=0.93 AU and closest approach to the Earth
is on September 15 when it will be just 0.40 AU distant. By then however its
declination drops to about -29 deg and so probably won't be accessible from
the UK.
