[BAA Comets] comet 174P outburst?

Good morning all,

On 2014 July 17 Kevin Hills measured the total magnitude of this comet to be 15.4. Measurements in
the COBS database either side of that date are around mag 17. I have checked Kevin's images and
obtained the same result so it does appear to be genuine. A post on comets-ml didn't produce any
other total mag measurements at that time. Nuclear mags (as recorded on the Cometas web site) do not
show any sudden increase in brightness.

Any thoughts anyone?
