Hi Nick,

Just read yours and Peter Carson's reply. I find comets like this very exciting. I just hope we get some clear windows over the next week whilst it's going to be at it's best. The tail in your image suggests it's not going to be easy visually but you never know.

Evening Andrew,

Yes, I got a nice view from Chelmsford too. I rushed home from work and set up just as the Moon was rising in the east. It was quite transparent here and still is. I was surprised how prominent the comet was compared to when I last saw it on Dec 30. I found it easily by sweeping with 11x80bins. Here's my image taken at the time:

At about 15 degs altitude in a not fully dark but very damp sky I found it easily in my 2.4 x 25mm opera glasses. In fact I would say it was bordering on naked eye visibility but the sky was too damp/claggy to be definite. In my 15 x 70 bins it was very nice indeed and in my 28 x 110 bins superb.
